I have on-line resumes everywhere. Would love someone to take a look at this one and give me some honest feedback. Frankly my eyes are crossed from looking at it.

I really like Linda's online resume. It's nicely organized and uses all the right action words.

I'm building an online portfolio and would like some feedback on mine. I'll be using Linda's resume as a model for mine.

Asthetically, they both look good but I think they are both overwhelming. Have either of you had any responses to them from potential employers?

I would also be concerned with revealing too much on line becqause you don't know who is reading it and there is so much press about identity theft. I would scale back and try entice the reader in to requesting the details or an interview.

I would like to try put one together modeled after these. If I do, I will make mine a simple, high level, one page resume with links to examples of my works and writings to try showcase my abilities without making the prospective employer feel like they can't afford me.

      Just my 3 cents!

I looked at your website portfolio and it is impressive! Did you have an example to go by? If so, what was it? I have Dreamweaver MX and have been trying to build the same type of site for my husband and me. We are both journalists and writers (he's an editor) who are seeking work in a place where we can raise our kids. Good luck!

I am currently reworking my resume using Resumemaker. It is a great program that walks you through the steps, gives examples of resumes in several various career fields, sends your resume out to all of the major job websites, and much more. As a resume' writer, my advice is not to sell yourself, but to make them want you. I visited your site and your credentials are impressive. However, it would be wise to save a lot of the details for the interview! For example, on your consulting page, you put the bulleted items on the right and then in the body, you explained them in great detail. It would be wise to use the bulleted items in the body, tweek them, and make the reader want to read more. On the average, employers spend about 2.5 minutes per resume. So, make the time count by drawing them in and leave the rest to the interview.
Also, research several companies you would like to work for, see if they have openings in your field, and email them your resume or a link to your site. This is a surefire way to get results because you cut out the middle man! Email me if you need anymore help!
